FAQ

Title Case Converter FAQs

What is title case?
Title case capitalizes major words in a heading while leaving some articles, conjunctions, and prepositions lowercase. The exact choices depend on your style guide.
Which style should I choose?
Use the style requested by your publication, school, or team. AP is common in editorial work, APA in academic writing, Chicago in publishing, and MLA in humanities work.
How are the styles different?
APA generally capitalizes words of four or more letters. Chicago eighteenth edition capitalizes prepositions of five or more letters. MLA keeps listed prepositions lowercase unless they begin or end the title. AP uses its own short-word rules.
Will this recognize every name or phrasal verb?
No. This tool uses deterministic English word rules rather than grammatical analysis. It can preserve existing AI-style acronyms and names such as iPhone, but review unfamiliar proper names, abbreviations, and phrasal verbs yourself. Entirely uppercase lines are normalized.
Can I convert more than one title?
Yes. Put one title on each line. Line breaks are preserved, and each line is converted separately. You can copy or download the entire result.
